CHOIR MEMBERS NEEDED!
If you enjoy singing why not give some thought to joining our choir?
All newcomers are most welcome. At the moment we really need MEN!

Basses and tenors are sought after in all choirs and we need additional voices to balance our excellent top line!

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings and you would be singing at Sunday services
when you are available and also at weddings, for which you will be paid!

We are particularly looking for any young people and children though all ages are welcome.

The choir of the Church of St Peter & St Paul, Aylesford, Kent is a mixed choir with a history stretching back well over 100 years. From young children to senior citizens, the choir is called upon to lead the weekly worship at Aylesford Church in addition to services of Choral Evensong, other special services, weddings, concerts, carol singing in the local community and other events.

An annual weekend away enables the choir to strengthen its social life as well as its musical, within the framework of the Christian community.

Aylesford Choir have appeared on television (ITV's 'Morning Worship' and Harry Secombe's 'Highway', as well as Telethon) and have recently made their first CD.

Practices are held in the church every Thursday evening from 8.00pm to 9.30pm (7.30 to 8.45pm for youngsters) which, with pre-service practices and Junior Choir practices, provides the opportunity to learn a variety of music in an environment where hard work and enjoyment go hand in hand.

The average length of service of choir members is in excess of 12 years: Many choristers also perform other duties within the church, for example, bell ringing.

The present Organist and Choirmaster took up duties in October 1985, and maybe contacted here about any aspect of the choir, including recruitment.
