Groups organised by Aylesford Church

Aylesford Church Sunday School

Sunday Club

We run a Sunday Club for children of primary school age 4-11 years. It is held on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of each month. The children leave the service at 10.20am to meet in the Pre-School room opposite the church, near Aylesford vicarage. We return back into Church in time for a blessing at 11.05am.

On the 1st Sunday of the month children stay in the service for our Family Service. All families welcome! There is also a self staffing creche at the rear of the church which many parents make use of if the little ones are tired or troubled.
Aylesford Church Home Study Groups

Home and Study Groups

Aylesford Church has four home study groups who meet fortnightly to read and discuss the Bible and grow in faith together. They discuss current issues such as euthanasia, other religious faiths and political issues.

The groups are on Tuesday evening, Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday evening and Sunday evening.

Aylesford Church Alpha group

Alpha Group

Periodically, we run an Alpha Course, developed in London and now running all over the world. This course looks at the main beliefs of Christians and has been found to be extremely helpful both to casual enquirers and to Christians wanting a new challenge in their faith.

Aylesford Church Catering Group

Catering Group

A small group of ladies led by Brenda Sladen are often found baking for various Church and Friends of Aylesford Church events. We make mountains of scones for cream teas, a variety of flans and quiches for summer lunches, nibbles for special evenings and meals for 50-60 people at our regular parish lunches. Our washing up volunteers are especially welcome. There are some special 'signature' dishes too such as Brenda's pavlova.
Aylesford Church Flower Arrangers

Flower Arrangers

Aylesford Church is often to be seen adorned with splendid flower arrangements for different occasions. This is thanks to a group of dedicated ladies who work behind the scenes on Saturday mornings.

Flower displays are also created for special occasions such as weddings. and seasonal festivities such as Christmas, Easter and Harvest.
Aylesford Church Handbells Group

Handbells Group

A set of handbells and a team of ringers practise most weeks on Monday evenings and give occasional performances in Aylesford Church or elsewhere. Music in the form of number charts is used, which is much less daunting for non-musically trained people.

For more details please contact Barbara and Gordon Hunt on 01622 769634.
Aylesford Church Film Group

Film Group

This is a brand new group for all ages, which aims to enjoy watching a variety of films (the majority with a Christian theme) in the company of others. After watching the film, we enjoy sharing our thoughts over refreshments. We meet every so often at the vicarage on a Sunday (early evening).

For more details please contact the Vicar cjvanstraaten@gmail.com
