Carol Singing in the Square

Carol Singing in the Square

On the Friday before Christmas, over 100 adults and children congregated in the village square to sing carols, accompanied by Pauline Fisher who played the cornet, helping us to keep in tune and up to speed - thank you so much for playing . . .  After half an hour of hearty singing most of us went to the church to have a delicious glass of mulled wine supplied by Ron and Jan Cogger and a mince pie. The choir and friends then went to The Chequers, Sherlocks, the Bush and the Village Club carol singing and £136 was collected at the two events for The Children's Society.

On the Sunday over 160 came to the service of 9 lessons and carols and many stayed to have coffee or tea and a mince pie.

It was a great start to the Christmas season.
