Maidstone Day Centre

Each Sunday in church we collect non-perishable food to take to the Day Centre for homeless or disadvantaged people in Maidstone. At Harvest time we make a particular effort to collect any donations.

Any non-perishable food donations welcome.

Africa day of Prayer | March 2013


Saturday 16th March was our 11th Day of Prayer for Africa, and I found it uplifting and inspiring. From 10am - 4pm we heard about many, many small-scale projects being run all over Africa by people in this country. Being small projects, they are closely supervised by the wonderful individuals who have started them, so money and goods sent out are carefully monitored and administration costs cut to a minimum.

Day of Prayer for Africa

We held our 10th Day of Prayer for Africa on 3rd March 2012.

In the morning we prayed about the importance of treating African countries justly: we considered the influence of debt, and money movement out of Africa, exploitation (especially of raw materials), the effect of land grabs by non-African countries on the food supply of the continent, and, finally, the importance of overcoming malaria and the significance of this for future population growth.
