Children's Holiday CLub theme of "LOVE"
There was an air of excitement as helpers busied themselves preparing for Holiday Club. The theme for the day was LOVE; what things children love, who they love and then how Jesus loves each one of them with a special love.
Chris' games are always a favourite part of the day, some of them fast and furious, all of them enjoyed immensely. A special treat was the puppet theatre from Larkfield. As they showed the children the love of Jesus through songs and a bible story, with a good array of puppets, there was sheer delight on the children's faces. I especially enjoyed a black male puppet with grey hair singing 'It's a wonderful world'. All the puppets appeared at the finale to the Farewell song from Sound of Music.
There were various craft activities for the children to do, from making photo frames to decorating buns and biscuits. Everyone worked hard with good results and lots of stuff to take home.
Lunch followed, then games and a prayer time. Soon after that it was time for the parents to collect the children, and for the helpers perhaps a bit weary, but happy too, to clear up and restore The Brassey Centre to normality.
Jenny's planning and organisation was superb, enabling the day to run smoothly. Twenty five children had heard the Good News of Jesus and His love; such an important part of our church's outreach.
