Under: Vicar's thoughts
It was a joy and privilege to join the parish in August as Vicar. Having spent the last 6 years as a Chaplain at Burrswood Christian Hospital, it is good to return to parish ministry and be involved in the full spectrum of community life. Previous parish ministry included over 7 years on the Isle of Wight and 4 years in Weymouth. I was ordained in 1999, after a career in Personnel Management.
I am so grateful for the warm welcome that everyone has given me, both within the Church family and wider community. I have already greatly enjoyed becoming involved with the four schools in the parish, and look forward to developing my role as Branch Padre to the Royal British Legion Village Branch.
The beginning of Advent means that Christmas is fast approaching! I am greatly looking forward to sharing in all the special services and events as part of the Christmas celebrations.
Looking ahead to the new Year I know that there will be many opportunities for us to learn and grow together in our faith and the sharing of God’s love in the life of the community.
