This Sunday - back in church with Zoom!

If all goes to plan!

This Sunday we are back in church again, for a service of Holy Communion, starting at 10am.

If you'd like to be there, please book your place, as below.

This week we're thinking about Peter as he walks towards Jesus on the water and then begins to sink. Is it as simple as lack of trust in Jesus? What do you think? Have a look at Matthew 14.22-33.

Something to look forward to: Michael will be playing the organ before and after the service.

The experience of church, at the moment, is very different to what we're used to. Please see below for more information.

Zooming

Good news ... we've been working hard connecting all sorts of bits of equipment together, and it looks like we'll be zooming from church on Sunday!! We're hopeful but we can't promise definitely. Please don't be disappointed if it doesn't work.

Please note: To set this up in church we have had to change the service link. It is now:

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86563973122?pwd=SWtUY1pqNXJJdWFMSCtXc2hCTWhUdz09

Meeting ID: 865 6397 3122
Passcode: 613976

The old link will not work.

If you are joining by Zoom, here is the service sheet. If you're coming to church, the service sheet will be supplied.

Here's the children's sheet.

We will not have Zoom access by phone this week, as we try this out (but so far no-one has tried to link into the service by phone, so hopefully, this is not letting anyone down).

As safe as possible ...

Please note that the wearing of face masks in church is now compulsory unless someone has a legitimate reason not to wear one. See more information below.

We will continue to keep everybody as safe as possible. Sidespeople will guide everyone in a one-way route through the building. Movement during the service will be kept to a minimum. Other sanitisation and safety measures are all in place.

Following the guidance means that things inside church are different to what we're used to. For example, once inside the church, you will be guided to the next seat available - sitting in favourite seats is not possible for the time being.* Sadly, gathering for chatting and coffee is not possible, before or after the service. There will not be any singing (but there will be recorded music). We are also taking part in the Government's Test and Trace programme, so if you attend, we will ask for your name and contact details.

*If you have particular needs regarding seating, please have a word with Aline when you book. We will, of course, do our best to accommodate you.

Booking is necessary

With the 2m safe distance, it is only possible to fit 30 people in the church at once, and so, if you would like to attend this coming Sunday, please book your place with Aline (email or 07771 636 872).

Face masks

The Church of England is still waiting for final wording from the government (7th August) but this is the current information:

"Face coverings are currently mandatory on public transport and in a range of indoor venues including places of worship and church halls. While there are exemptions, outlined below, this is a legal requirement."

There is more detail in this document.
