Lent 2024 - The Bible Course

This year, Easter is quite early (Easter Day is Sunday 31st March) and so Lent begins soon ... Ash Wednesday is on 14th February (next week).

Once again the PCC has agreed to a meeting-free Lent to allow for a time of rest and focus on our spiritual journey - individually and collectively.

As part of that, this year's Lent Course will be The Bible Course.

It will be run the same way as last year's much enjoyed course ... sessions will be on Sunday evenings, 6pm - 7.30 (ish) pm, starting on Sunday 18th February, in the main hall in the Brassey Centre.

The Bible Course

An eight-session course to help you explore the BIG story.

Big, complex, old … just some of the words people use to describe the Bible. Sound familiar? That’s where The Bible Course comes in. The course will increase your confidence, equip you to read the Bible better and help you to see its relevance to daily life. The course provides a birds-eye view of the world’s bestselling book.

Over eight interactive sessions, it combines video teaching, group discussion, personal reflection and daily readings.

  • See how the books of the Bible are part of one big story
  • Using a unique storyline, find out how key events, books and characters fit together
  • Video teaching, written guides, diagrams and readings will help you grow in confidence as you read the Bible for yourself
  • Acts as a great follow-on resource if you have completed a course like Alpha and Christianity Explored.

Course Manual

The manuals for the course will be supplied. They are £4.99 each. If you can contribute, that will be great. If not, no problem. There is also a large print version available for £8.99.
